Dear TakeHome User:
This notice is to inform you of the newest release of
TakeHome... The Net Pay Calculator Version 4.5. We would
like to thank you for registering your copy of the program.
Many TakeHome users have been letting us know what additional
features they would like to program to do, and we have been
listening!
In addition to the features in your present version of
TakeHome, we have added the following to Version 4.5:
■ FICA taxes have been split out into Social Security and
medicare portions. The split is shown both on the
screen and the paystub. You have the ability to turn
either portion off when the maximum tax has been collected.
■ TakeHome will save your personal data to your disk of the
information you enter each time (gross wage, federal
and state exemption status, Section 125 deduction,
401(k) deduction, additional federal and state tax to
be withheld, and the up to 9 "other deductions"). If
you do not want the data saved, you can also select
that option. By saving the data, you do not need to
enter the same basic information each time.
■ You are now given the choice of entering your 401(k)
deduction in the form of dollars or a calculated
percent of your gross income.
■ The 401(k) listing previously listed up to sixteen
percent, but has now been raised up to forty-eight
percent. Also, the 401(k) screen has been expanded
to show not only the saving for Federal taxes, but
also the savings for state taxes in those states
which allow this type of deduction. You can also
generate a report which shows not only the value in
taxes saved, but also the actual cost of your deduction.
■ You can also select between 401(k) or 403(b) nomenclature
to be listed on the screen and printed on the paystub.
■ The program now exports data to a comma delimited ".PRN"
file. This data is a record of your most current entry
and the calculated taxes, which can be imported into a
Lotus worksheet or a database file. This file is
expanded each time you run the program so that if you
maintain your records on a monthly or quarterly basis,
you do not need to update the worksheet or database
after running TakeHome each time.
■ An optional .WK1 file is also available for storing the
exported data, which will also compute unemployment and
employer FICA taxes. It also keeps quarterly and year-
to-date totals of your data. This optional worksheet
includes the formatting for both Allways and Impress
add-ins (if you use either one for distinctively
printed worksheets).
■ A garnishment calculator has been added to figure any
amounts to be withheld for I.R.S Tax Levy's or a 25
percent of disposable earnings garnishment.
■ Registered users of version 4.5 are eligible to
participate in TakeHome's Commission Program. You can
earn ten percent of each program that you have your
friends, co-workers, relatives, etc. register with the
author of TakeHome. (See COMISION.DOC file)
The pricing structure for registering version 4.5 is $35 for
the initial registration, $10 for each state and/or local
customization, $20 for site licenses, and $10 for the .WK1
worksheet files. For an additional $5, you can receive a
copy of the shareware version of TakeHome for distribution
as outlined in the TakeHome Commission Program. There is
also a $5 shipping and handling charge for the program and
manual.
TakeHome now offers 3 disk formats for you to choose from:
1) 5¼ inch (360K),
2) 5¼ inch (1.2MB), or
3) 3½ inch (740K),
in which there is no additional charge for whichever format
you choose. With the disk options, TakeHome can now be run
from any DOS compatible computer you may have.
Please note: Due to the size of the new version of TakeHome,
it is recommended that you run the program using a computer
with at least 512K of memory. The program will run with
less memory, but may stall when using some of the advanced
functions.
To order TakeHome Version 4.5 (copyright, (c)1989 - 1991 by
R. G. Farnam), fill out the enclosed order form, selecting
the customization and options that you want included, or run
the Register Command from within TakeHome.
Thanks again for your support and we look forward to
hearing from you soon.
