  1. Dear TakeHome User:
  2.  
  3. This notice is to inform you of the newest release of
  4. TakeHome... The Net Pay Calculator Version 4.5.  We would
  5. like to thank you for registering your copy of the program.
  6. Many TakeHome users have been letting us know what additional
  7. features they would like to program to do, and we have been
  8. listening!
  9.  
  10. In addition to the features in your present version of
  11. TakeHome, we have added the following to Version 4.5:
  12.  
  13. ■ FICA taxes have been split out into Social Security and
  14.      medicare portions.  The split is shown both on the 
  15.      screen and the paystub.  You have the ability to turn
  16.      either portion off when the maximum tax has been collected.
  17.  
  18. ■ TakeHome will save your personal data to your disk of the
  19.      information you enter each time (gross wage, federal
  20.      and state exemption status, Section 125 deduction,
  21.      401(k) deduction, additional federal and state tax to
  22.      be withheld, and the up to 9 "other deductions").  If
  23.      you do not want the data saved, you can also select
  24.      that option.  By saving the data, you do not need to
  25.      enter the same basic information each time.

  27. ■ You are now given the choice of entering your 401(k)
  28.      deduction in the form of dollars or a calculated
  29.      percent of your gross income.
  30.  
  31. ■ The 401(k) listing previously listed up to sixteen
  32.      percent, but has now been raised up to forty-eight
  33.      percent.   Also, the 401(k) screen has been expanded
  34.      to show not only the saving for Federal taxes, but
  35.      also the savings for state taxes in those states
  36.      which allow this type of deduction.  You can also
  37.      generate a report which shows not only the value in
  38.      taxes saved, but also the actual cost of your deduction.

  40. ■ You can also select between 401(k) or 403(b) nomenclature
  41.      to be listed on the screen and printed on the paystub.
  42.  
  43. ■ The program now exports data to a comma delimited ".PRN"
  44.      file.  This data is a record of your most current entry
  45.      and the calculated taxes, which can be imported into a
  46.      Lotus worksheet or a database file.  This file is
  47.      expanded each time you run the program so that if you
  48.      maintain your records on a monthly or quarterly basis,
  49.      you do not need to update the worksheet or database
  50.      after running TakeHome each time.

  52. ■ An optional .WK1 file is also available for storing the
  53.      exported data, which will also compute unemployment and
  54.      employer FICA taxes.  It also keeps quarterly and year-
  55.      to-date totals of your data.  This optional worksheet
  56.      includes the formatting for both Allways and Impress
  57.      add-ins (if you use either one for distinctively
  58.      printed worksheets).

  60. ■ A garnishment calculator has been added to figure any
  61.      amounts to be withheld for I.R.S Tax Levy's or a 25
  62.      percent of disposable earnings garnishment.
  63.  
  64. ■ Registered users of version 4.5 are eligible to
  65.      participate in TakeHome's Commission Program.  You can
  66.      earn ten percent of each program that you have your
  67.      friends, co-workers, relatives, etc. register with the
  68.      author of TakeHome. (See COMISION.DOC file)
  69.  
  70. The pricing structure for registering version 4.5 is $35 for
  71. the initial registration, $10 for each state and/or local
  72. customization, $20 for site licenses, and $10 for the .WK1
  73. worksheet files.  For an additional $5, you can receive a
  74. copy of the shareware version of TakeHome for distribution
  75. as outlined in the TakeHome Commission Program.  There is
  76. also a $5 shipping and handling charge for the program and
  77. manual.

  79. TakeHome now offers 3 disk formats for you to choose from:
  80.      1)  5¼ inch (360K),
  81.      2)  5¼ inch (1.2MB), or
  82.      3)  3½ inch (740K),
  83. in which there is no additional charge for whichever format
  84. you choose.  With the disk options, TakeHome can now be run
  85. from any DOS compatible computer you may have.

  87. Please note: Due to the size of the new version of TakeHome,
  88. it is recommended that you run the program using a computer
  89. with at least 512K of memory.  The program will run with
  90. less memory, but may stall when using some of the advanced
  91. functions.
